Poem From 1976

Postby Tom on Sun Aug 02, 2009 7:20 am

Winds Of Change

Winds of change drift me along
Help me to sing a sweeter song
Than the one that I've been singing
Let happiness be what you're bringing
My way.

Lift me up into the sky
Thrill me with a higher high
But when it's time for good things to die
Let me down easy.

Winds of change at times you blow so fiercely
I can scarcely stand
But now and then you whisper gently
And help me understand
What went wrong.

Lift me up into the sky
Thrill me with a higher high
But when it's time for good things to die
Let me down
Easy.

Thank you. I wrote that shortly before I was hospitalized for the first time with massive delusional mania. Ah, those were the days!
